Cameron McLeod survives horror crash at Wanneroo Raceway on Sunday afternoon

A racing car driver has somehow survived a spectacular rollover crash at Sunday’s Dunlop series race in Perth.

Brisbane based youngster Cameron McLeod flipped his car several times at the Wanneroo Raceway on Sunday afternoon.

Shocking vision of the crash shows the 19-year-old being clipped by another driver during the race before his car flies into the air and flips several times.

The car eventually comes to rest on the side of the race track.

Incredibly, the teenager was able to get out of the car and walk away from his mangled vehicle.

“The 19-year-old was clipped from behind by Cooper Murray approaching one of the fastest parts of the Wanneroo circuit in the support category race before getting airborne as his Commodore rolled mid-air,” Supercars head of communications Paul Glover said in a statement.

“McLeod thankfully walked away from the incident and was treated by the medical team at the circuit.

“The result was backdated to the standings before the lap of the crash, which meant McLeod was awarded a 3rd place finish for the race.”
