Yellow Wiggle Emma Watkins reacts to Purple Wiggle Lachy Gillespie’s engagement to Dana Stephensen

Yellow Wiggle Emma Watkins has broken her silence on her ex-husband Lachy Gillespie’s engagement to ballerina Dana Stephensen with a sweet social media message.

Purple Wiggle Gillespie announced he had accepted a proposal from the Australian Ballet dancer, who he also met filming the popular children’s TV show.

His popular ex-wife appears to have given her blessing to the couple after reacting with a message of three purple hearts on his Instagram post.

Former Blue Wiggle Anthony Field also congratulated the pair, as did red Wiggle Simon Pryce and country singer Troy Cassar-Daley who wrote: “Awesome stuff well both / all three of you x”.

Stephensen showed off her sparkling engagement ring yesterday — an emerald cut pink gemstone and gave away further details on their proposal.

She revealed Gillespie had proposed to her first before she returned the gesture last week.

“At the end of our summer holidays, I walked into the most beautiful surprise - a room filled with the most incredible flowers and Lachy singing at his piano and then asking me to marry him,” she wrote on Instagram.

“It was such a surprise and so special. Our faces say it all. It was something very meaningful for us to both have the opportunity to propose to one another, each in our own way.

“Last week, with the most beautiful (and excited!) little boy by my side in a special bow tie, it was our time to ask Lachy our special question - and it was so, so wonderful.”

Watkins and Gillespie broke thousands of tiny hearts two years ago when they revealed they were divorcing after two years of marriage.

The couple married in a stunning ceremony in country NSW and continue to tour together with The Wiggles.

Watkins has also found love through the TV show and is now dating the show’s guitar and banjo player Oliver Brian.
