Bindi Irwin has revealed she and husband Chandler Powell are expecting their first child early next year.

The 22-year-old daughter of the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin shared the news with her 3.6 million followers on Instagram tonight, posing in a picture alongside Powell holding a tiny Australia Zoo shirt.

“Baby Wildlife Warrior due 2021,” she wrote. “Chandler and I are proud to announce that we’re expecting!

“It’s an honour to share this special moment in our lives with you.

“Though I’m still in my first trimester, we really want you to be part of our journey from the beginning of this new life chapter.

“We couldn’t wait to share the news as this beautiful little being has become the most important part of our lives. Your support means the world to us.”

Powell took to the comments to write: “You’re going to be the best mother.”

The couple was married in March in an intimate ceremony at Australia Zoo but had to scale back their original plans to comply with COVID-19 social distancing restrictions.

The post was “liked” more than 100,000 times in the first 30 minutes it was up.
