Tane is still stationed in hospital. He keeps up the grunting but he is given few lines, which really enhances his status as someone who is a bit thick.

Nikau hears the news and pays his uncle a visit. Not even at this point do we find out how Tane got injured so bad, he tore his liver.

Instead we’re forced to read between the lines — something very uncommon in Home and Away — and it’s assumed some baddies beat him up because the stolen van is full of drugs. Now that’s a lot of drugs.

“I didn’t know it was drugs until it was too late,” Tane says like a robot so as not to implicate himself while enjoying his own drugs.

However Tane is still pretty worried about Ziggy — his new carefree boss — getting tied up in his dodgy doings and makes an attempt to call her.

We don’t hear anything else on the matter apart from a very poorly spelt text threat from the dodgy dudes saying something along the lines of “get here asap or ur family will pay”.

Tane jumps at the opportunity to tell Nikau to escape town while he still can, which of course is perfect timing because Gemma, his mum, wants him to move back to New Zealand and the ban on his passport was just lifted.

Meanwhile news is getting around that Tane got beaten up because everyone in Summer Bay loves a gossip.

Bella and Nikau sit on the jetty which hasn’t been put to use much recently and she pours her heat out and is “terrified” of never seeing Nikau again.

But never fear, Nikau is a man of gallant actions and asks Bella to move to New Zealand with him. So problem solved — two 19-year-olds who are still in the early days of their relationship can pick up their life and start a new one.

Meanwhile back at the hospital, it’s clear that Tori is quite nervous about her upcoming sex appointment with Budget McDreamy that was scheduled a few days ago.

They do their usual back and forth mixed messages dynamic and Tori expects Budget McDreamy to fight for her. But aside from his eclectic wardrobe (not on show today) he’s actually a reasonable human and doesn’t want to pressure her into a relationship or sex before she’s ready.

However this confuses Tori because she hasn’t been with a considerate man before? So grim.

Tori decides she needs to make her intension clear and she calls him into her office for unofficial business and “lays the cards out” which certainly does the trick.

Things heat up in the good way until Tori freaks out and calls it off.

Tori goes home to Maz, her baby Gracie, Justin and Leah.

“I made a move on Christian and then I threw him out of my office,” Tori tells them.

Justin reacts in his usual manner of covering his ears because he couldn’t possibly listen to tiniest detail about his sister’s love life. Grow up Justin, you’ve got cancer now.

Anyway there’s a bit of lingering beef between Budget McDreamy and Jasmine over the possibility of McDreamy taking on some sort of father figure in baby Gracie’s life — the living memory of dead Robbo — but they clear the air off camera.

Tori meets up with her hot doc and things appear to be back on track.

Or I hope so because this nonsense on again off again thing is getting to me. Tori is a strong independent woman who practically runs the entire hospital so claim your man and be done with it.
