Hyundai has unveiled the Sonata N Line due in Australia later this year, however it’s keeping quiet on mechanical details for now.

The sporty sedan has a cascading grille, three air intakes and N Line badging at the front, side skirts and 19-inch alloy wheels to provide an aggressive side profile, and a black lower bumper, dual twin exhausts and N Line diffuser at the rear.

Inside, the cabin features dark chrome trim and red stitching on the steering wheel and sport seats.

As with the N Line models emerging throughout the Hyundai line-up, the Sonata N Line isn’t a fully fledged N model but will be more than just a styling pack.

In the US, it’s expected to have a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine offering 216kW and 420Nm, paired to an eight-speed dual clutch automatic transmission sending power tot the front wheels.

The Australian engine could have different outputs, but the Sonata N Line will get a sportier chassis than the other Sonata variants and will presumably get some local suspension work, as is Hyundai’s usual MO in Australia.

Given the car’s imminent arrival, Australian details shouldn’t be too far away.
