2021 Skoda Kamiq pricing and details revealed

Skoda has revealed pricing and details for the Kamiq light SUV, which will slot in below the Karoq in its local line-up when deliveries arrive from next month.

A three-variant line-up will kick off with 85TSI manual from $27,990 drive-away, which is about par for a small SUV starting point.

It has an 85kW/200Nm turbo petrol engine using 5.0-5.1L/100km of fuel.

Standard gear includes a six-speed manual — the only stick available in the range — plus a number of top end features such as a Virtual Cockpit driver display, wireless phone charging, auto tailgate, 18-inch wheels, 8-inch infotainment display, driver fatigue detection and more.

A seven-speed dual clutch automatic adds $2000 to the drive-away price.

Stepping up, the Monte Carlo and Limited Edition variants are both auto-only and pack a more powerful 110kW/250Nm turbo petrol, using 5.6L/100km.

A large $7000 jump in dirve-away pricing from the auto 85TFI to the Monte Carlo adds the more powerful engine, plus black alloy wheels and other black design elements, sunroof, adaptive LED headlights and sports chassis control which lowers the height by 15mm and allows drivers to choose different drive modes.

For the same drive-away price, the Limited Edition adds more premium set materials, 9.2-inch touch screen with Amundsen navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay, heated front and rear seats, electric driver’s seat, automatic park assist and more.

To help fill the gap in price between the 85TSI and Monte Carlo, the 85TSI can be had with Driver Support Pack ($41000 and Tech Pack ($3800), which add features found in the higher variants.

The Monte Carlo can add some of the Limited Edition’s features via the $4300 Travel Pack.

The Kamiq’s arrival continues Skoda’s expansion in Australia, which until the COVID outbreak had enjoyed steady sales growth despite only filling out its SUV portfolio in th elast couple of years with the Kodiaq and Karoq.
