Pound Coffee Roastery’s Irene Gardner is full of beans about the family’s Hyundai iMax, which does double duty as a work and recreational vehicle for extended weekend outings while she dreams of hitting the road in a vintage black Porsche.

What are you driving and why did you buy it?

A Hyundai iMax — it’s super easy to drive, very quiet and I can convert it to a people mover, so we can use it to take the whole family out.

I’ve got a few: a black 1956 Porsche 356 Speedster, a red 1967 Ford Mustang convertible and an Indian Scout motorcycle with sidecar. I love them because all three are absolute classics.

What was your first car?

My first car was my parents’ old 1980s Holden Commodore. It had leather seats and I remember them burning in the heat of summer. You had to drive with all the windows openand it would still be scorching inside.

What annoys you most about other motorists?

Not indicating at roundabouts — or not indicating correctly at roundabouts.

What’s your favourite driving music?

Classic 70s rock, Jamaican dub and Motown.
