“We love seeing them having a good time here, and that’s what it’s all about.”

Shelter is a two-storey structure with a central open brewery, function rooms, lounge area, viewing gallery, and custom-built playground.

Director Zeb Packard-Hair said the project took two years to complete, from the beginning of the process to pouring its first beers.

“Being involved in building Shelter has been one of great experiences of my life,” Mr Packard-Hair said. “The teamwork from everyone involved has been phenomenal.

“I’m super-proud of them all.”

The cafe is also reported to be very successful — serving Margaret River Roasters coffee, and fresh house-baked cinnamon scrolls and bagels every morning.

City of Busselton Mayor Grant Henley said Shelter Brewing Co was an enhancement to the Busselton Foreshore precinct.

“We have the best brewery in the best corner of the best State in the country,” Cr Henley said.

The venue is licensed for 650 people and is open from 10am-10pm every day.

Visitors are urged to book in advance.
