The Dunsborough Country Women’s Association came to the aid of hundreds of police officers last week baking cakes and biscuits for those in the region for Leavers.

The snacks were delivered each day, and CWA Dunsborough president Lesley Sproule said the kind act was appreciated by officers.

“We have been doing it for quite a few years, it is just a community service,” she said.

“We appreciate that the cops keep things under control when all the kids get down here, so we decided we would make them bickies and cakes for their morning tea. And they really appreciate it.”

The group is also catering for a hospice volunteers’ Christmas event, another service it has participated in for many years.
