Palestinian teen killed in Israeli clashes

A 15-year-old Palestinian youth has been shot dead during clashes with Israeli soldiers in the West Bank, the Health Ministry in Ramallah says.

Another six Palestinians were injured by live ammunition during the clashes, which followed a call to protest against a settlers' outpost south of the Palestinian city of Nablus, according to authorities.

The Israeli army has yet to comment on the incident.

On Thursday, two Palestinian security officers were fatally shot in the northern West Bank by members of an Israeli special forces unit.

According to Palestinian news agency Wafa, the two victims were employees of the military intelligence service in the city of Jenin.

A third person was also killed.

Israeli security sources said the special unit was in Jenin to arrest two fighters of the Palestinian militant organisation Islamic Jihad, who were suspected of contributing to attacks on Israeli soldiers in recent months.

The Israeli sources added that during a gun battle, one of the suspects was shot and a second injured.

An official speaking on behalf of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas warned against an escalation of the situation.
