A traveller from India who tested positive for COVID-19 and has been isolating in hotel quarantine has been rushed to a Perth hospital.

The man in his 30s was taken to the intensive care unit at Fiona Stanley Hospital today after his condition deteriorated.

He is currently in a stable condition and is one of 22 active cases of COVID-19 in WA.

It comes as news emerged WA had recorded zero new cases of the virus today.

The donut day came on the State’s first day of eased restrictions, with people across the Perth and Peel regions no longer required to wear face masks unless travelling on public transport, visiting hospitals or aged care homes and attending events with more than 1000 people.
