A man accused of murdering his frail 82-year-old neighbour in Orelia has told a court he is guilty of the charge.

Retired ship cook Allan Pedersen was found in a pool of blood his Barron Way unit earlier this month after a friend went to collect him for an eye appointment.

Mr Pedersen’s neighbour, Michael Andrew Dalton, appeared in Stirling Gardens Magistrate’s Court this morning charged with his murder.

When he was asked if he had made an application for legal aid, Mr Dalton said he did not want a lawyer to represent him because he was guilty.

The court was told Mr Dalton had made admissions to a psychiatric nurse and police officers.
