Man fighting for life after reported stabbing at the State Library of WA

A man in his 50s is in a critical condition, fighting for life, at Royal Perth Hospital after being reportedly stabbed at the State Library of WA.

Police were called to a “disturbance” at the library on Francis Street in Perth just after 2:30pm.

Another man fled from the area but was arrested by police a short time later.

“The man who fled was taken into custody a short time later and is assisting police with their investigation,” the spokeswoman said.

It is understood the man in his 50s suffered at least one serious stab wound.
