A pet dog is believed to have died after a fire broke out at a home in Perth’s north east on Monday night.

The single-storey house on Mayfield Drive in Brabham caught fire about 7.12pm.

Three fire and rescue crews responded to triple-0 calls and arrived to find the front room and part of the roof of the property in flames.

Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of the blaze.

It took about 30 minutes to bring the blaze under control, with the damage bill estimated at about $200,000.

A dog is understood to have died in the fire, 7NEWS reported.

Fire investigators from the Department of Fire and Emergency Services are working to determine what sparked the blaze.

While the investigation is still ongoing, it is believed the cause may have been accidental.

WA Police and Western Power also attended the incident but have since left.
