Two men had “a very lucky break” after being rescued when their boat capsized and sunk near Two Rocks yesterday.

Police received a report of two men — aged in their 30’s and 60’s — struggling in the water after their 5.3 metre vessel overturned about three nautical miles off the shore.

Two Rocks Volunteer Marine Rescue members and an RAC helicopter found them after one of the the men managed to keep his mobile phone dry enough to contact the rescuers.

One man was winched aboard the helicopter while the TRVMR boat rescued the other.

The pair had to be treated by St John Ambulance for jellyfish stings.
