A man’s body has been found by construction workers in the car park of a major hospital in Perth.

While police have not confirmed whether the death was suspicious or not, the man, in his 50s, had injuries to his face and body.

Construction workers stumbled upon the grim scene in the car park of the Royal Perth Hospital on Thursday morning, before alerting emergency services.

Police shut off the car park to the public, with forensic officers and investigators called in.

Witnesses in the area described the scene as “scary”, telling 9 News Perth they were shocked by what they saw.

“There were just ambulances and police officers around and I thought it was a bit strange,” witness Dani Butler said.

“To hear something like that has happened, it’s pretty scary.”
