More visitors are allowed in Victorian households after the state government further lifted coronavirus restrictions in time for the long weekend.

The indoor gathering limit at homes doubled at midnight on Friday from 15 people to 30.

The smaller limit on home gatherings had been introduced on New Year's Eve, as the state recorded a cluster of new cases linked to a Black Rock Thai restaurant.

The state notched up 17 days straight with no local transmission of the virus on Saturday. Three cases were found in hotel quarantine.
