Kalgoorlie police hold concerns for the welfare of 72-year-old prospector Beat Alexander Wildberger, who has been missing for two weeks.

Mr Wildberger was last seen in Kalgoorlie-Boulder on January 16 and is believed to be north of the town.

“Concerns are held for his welfare due to his age, remoteness of intended travel and inclement weather recently experienced,” the Goldfields-Esperance district police wrote in a statement on Thursday.

“Any sightings of Mr Wildberger should be reported to police immediately on 131 444.”

Authorities believe the man was driving a silver Toyota Landcruiser registered 1AJH032.
