West Aussies have the chance to slide into 2022 on a cloud of serious cash with the New Year’s Eve Megadraw topping $40 million dollars, as a Perth couple revels in a second major win.

If you doubt your chances of scoring even a slice of that cold hard cash, don’t forget that 71 WA players have taken home division one prizes this year totalling more than $206 million.

And if you’re still on the fence, Lotterywest has also revealed the most frequently drawn numbers over the last five Megadraws: 31, 17, 39, 33, 30, 15, 5, 9, 37 and 14.

“December has been a great month for Western Australians, with eight Division One winners,” Lotterywest spokesperson Nikki Brown said.

More than one million tickets are expected to be purchased for tonight’s draw.

Punters have until 6pm to grab a ticket in-store, online or via the app.

Meanwhile Perth couple Grant and Annie have first class fantasies on their mind after winning $999, 822 in Saturday lotto.

Incredibly, Grant won $400,000 in 2005 but lost half of it to “vultures”.

“There’s no secret. Just buy a bloody ticket,” he said when asked about his incredible lotto luck.

You can see more of his story - including his first lotto-winning purchase - in the video player at the top of the page.

If you’re waiting for 2022, Thursday’s Powerball draw has also jackpotted to $60 million.
