Some of WA’s big winners from Thursday night’s historic Powerball draw are trickling into Lotterywest’s winners’ room to see how the other half live.

The $120 million jackpot, the second-biggest jackpot in Australian Lotto history, was shared between two winners with the division one ticket worth more than $63 million.

A syndicate from Kalgoorlie shared the prize pool with a winning ticket from NSW.

While the winners are starting to come forward, Lotterywest believes there are around 200 tickets still to be verified.

The syndicate has 250 members, with each believed to be taking home $250,000.

One of the winners, a school worker and mum, had already walked her dog, chatted with a neighbour and been to the newsagents before she jumped on a flight to be in the Lotterywest office before 11am.

“I’ve been living pay-check to pay-check,” she said.

“Now I can help out my kids and some friends, and I’m also going to fill up my neighbour’s car with petrol so she can get to Perth to cash in her ticket.”

A couple who had set off from Kal at 6am for the drive to Perth said their win had taken a huge weight of their shoulders.

“We’re building a house, so this will be a huge help with paying for that,” the business owner said.

“We also want to pay it forward and help a few local people as well.”

Lotterywest CEO Ralph Addis said it was an exceptional situation having so many winners in the syndicate.

“It’s fantastic to see so many people share in this win,” Mr Addis said.

“Coming off the back of an $80 million syndicate win in December, this just adds to WA’s amazing winning streak.”

This is the biggest win for WA this year and the fifth-highest lottery win ever in Australia.

More than 685,000 Western Australians shared in prize money across the other divisions, including 20 division two winners pocketing about $77,000 each.
