Round four of the WA Rally Championship is heading to Manjimup this Saturday, with the all-new, three-stage Karri Rally set to take place across Manjimup’s eastern forests.

The rally is made up of a total of 119km across Mooralup, Cardac, Yardup and Yeticup forests, which most cars will complete twice.

As well as for points in the WA Rally Championship, drivers will compete for the Karri Valley trophy. The event is presented by Dunlop Tyres and organised by RallyWA.

Clerk of the course Neil Trethowen said that Karry Valley features a fairly few long runs which allows the cars to get up to a very fast pace.

“The faster cars will record average speeds of about 106-112km per hour,” he said.

“They’ll reach speeds of about 190km in some of the sections.”

This year the Karri Rally boasts a fantastic new Super Stage in the surrounds of the Manjimup Motocross Track which will be ideal for spectators. This stage will start at 3:45pm.

Manjimup Motorcycle Club president Shane Blakers said that the MMC was excited about the special stage.

“It’s going to be a very testing track, a couple of sections will be interesting,” he said.

Another new innovation for 2022 is the Service Park moving to Rose Street in the centre of Manjimup.

Spectators are not encouraged to be out on the course, but are welcome to visit the service park to see the rally cars. The first car is set to leave at 1 pm.
