A Channybearup resident was lucky to avoid serious harm after her car was crushed by a falling tree limb.

At about 5.30pm on June 30, Jenna Barnett was travelling along Stirling Road when a tree fell across the bonnet of the car, smashing its windscreen and crushing the bonnet of the car.

Ms Barnett said the branch that fell was long enough to reach across both lanes of the road.

“I saw the branches at the top moving as it was coming down, so I suddenly braked and I didn’t quite brake hard enough I guess,” she said.

Ms Barnett was the only person in the car at the time.
