The State government has announced a $20,000 community basketball program in the Shire of Carnarvon.

Basketball WA will deliver the program with community organisations including the Carnarvon PCYC and Stephen Michael Foundation.

It will include an Aussie Hoops program and engagement for children, and Night Hoops and three on three contests for youth and senior players.

“It's great to see this investment in the community in Carnarvon, and in particular the young people,” Mining and Pastoral Region MLC Kyle McGinn said in a statement to media.

“Having great sports and recreation programs can make a huge impact on a young person's life.
