One of Australia’s largest rural charities is hosting a free webinar tonight on the topic of strategies to help raise resilient rural kids.

Rural Aid works to support farmers and their families in tough times but acknowledges children often need support too, which is why they’re hosting this event for country parents and grandparents .

Held tonight at 5pm AWST, Rural Aid counsellor Zoe Cox will host the webinar talking about a child’s emotional resilience and how parents can help their child grow.

“The old “toughen up, princess” approach is not the answer, nor is helicopter parenting,” she said.

“Bush kids are also subjected to additional adversity including financial hardship, environmental stressors and isolation. So it’s important we know how to create an environment where they can be emotionally resilient.”
