Brave man faces off with giant roo to save pet dog

This kangaroo messed with the wrong dog.

In what might be the most Australian thing on the internet, footage has emerged showing a man facing off with a kangaroo to save a pet dog.

It is not clear what TV show the clip came from but it has been viewed millions of times since it was posted to Facebook this morning.

It starts with a man named Greg rushing towards a dog named Max, apparently worried he has attacked a kangaroo.

“But all is not as it seems,” the narrator says.

“The big buck actually has hold of the dog, not the other way around.

“As Greg runs in, we realise this could get dangerous.”

The kangaroo lashes out at Max with its claws before it is forced to switch its attention to Greg.

The brave owner then goes toe-to-toe with one of the most naturally talented boxers in the animal kingdom.

“The buck roo sees the odds stacking against him and tries to get the dog with its claws one last time,” the narrator says.

“Its powerful arms anchor the dog by the breastplate as Max doubles his efforts to escape.

“Finally the roo switches his attention to ‘Donks’ and sizes up the human to be his next victim.

“Donks gives the kangaroo his face but the cranky buck comes forward ready to attack.

“To save himself he launches a right hand to the kangaroo’s snout.”

And what a right hand it was.

The kangaroo did not appear to be hurt but it might think twice before it attacks another dog.
