A man has been found dead in surf at Fremantle’s South Beach.

Police were called to Fiona Stanley Hospital about 8:40am on Wednesday after the man was found unresponsive in the water.

A police spokeswoman said it is understood the man suffered a “medical episode” before he died.

His cause of death is yet to be determined.

It is not being treated as suspicious.
