Lewis extends his port stay

Experienced port manager Steve Lewis has signed on as the Southern Ports chief executive officer for a further three years.

After being appointed to the role in January last year with more than 15 years of experience as port chief executive, Mr Lewis said he is looking forward to his future years with the organisation.

“I have very much enjoyed my time as CEO,” he said.

“Since taking on this position I have had a hand in various projects across the South West and hope to be a part of many more.

“We are focused on supporting our regions and our ports and I am very excited to see what the future holds.”

Southern Ports chair Ian Shepherd said the board was pleased to see Mr Lewis continue in his role.

“Steve’s reappointment is a credit to the great work he has already done within Southern Ports in the 18 months he has been in the role,” Mr Shepherd said.

“We know this extended contract will provide continued stability in the organisation and strengthen long term planning for our regional ports. Steve has engaged an enthusiastic and experienced executive team who are also striving to build trade and capability within our ports.”
