The last time W-League powerhouse Perth Glory graced the turf of the WML Stadium at Hay Park, the South West soccer community was rewarded with a glut of goals.

Glory, spurred on by Matildas icon Samantha Kerr, played out a 4-all draw against Canberra United in January 2018, with a big crowd wrapped around the pitch.

But for Margaret River product Natasha Rigby, this match is more than picking up maximum points.

“I love my roots,” she said. “I cannot think more highly of Margaret River as a community. It is full of so many humble, down to earth people.

“It is just so different in terms of appreciation you receive from country people, because they are just so genuine and beautiful.

“It will be amazing to play in front of that crowd and to show even our international players. We took them down to Dunsborough earlier in the season and just to be able to show them around Margaret River, Bunbury and Busso (was great).

“It is all so gorgeous down there.”

Bobby Despotovski’s squad will arrive in Bunbury on Monday for six days of clinics, coaching education, community engagement and the chance to bank three points.

Readers of the South Western Times also have the opportunity to win one of five Glory jerseys and tickets to the big game.

All you need to do to be in the running to secure one of these awesome prizes is to get the code word from today’s edition on page 31 and enter your details by 5pm Monday.
