Hundreds of shoppers showed their love for local vendors when they descended upon Whitegum Park for the final Kununurra markets of the year on September 5.

The market season usually runs from April to September in line with the cooler weather, but due to COVID-19 restrictions this year’s run only began in July, with stalls open on Saturday mornings from 8am to 12pm.

Oria Orchards owner-operator Dianne Robinson, said the community had shown a great amount of support to stallholders in the past 10 weeks through the weekly demand for produce, food and locally made artisan goods.

It was a challenge for the markets to run, with safety measures implemented including sanitiser stations and the absence of seating to keep stallholders and attendees safe from coronavirus.

The KMI committee, which was not available for comment, took to its Facebook page to thank the community for their support.
