The following day sees the Eagles square off against the Giants from 4:10pm in a Sunday twilight slot.

After tackling Gold Coast in the final clash of round 12, Richmond can expect can expect a four-day break leading in to round 13.

7NEWS reporter Ryan Daniels has confirmed the date for the Dreamtime match between Richmond and Essendon will be in a marquee Friday night slot on August 21.

That clash will be played in Darwin.

With both New South Wales based clubs travelling west, Fremantle can all but assume their round 14 opponent will be the Giants.

Meanwhile it’s not so simple for West Coast, as they have already completed their clash against the Swans with a 34-point win in round five.

The clash was their penultimate match in the Gold Coast hub, coming after a fixture change forced their initial scheduled clash against Richmond in round five to be postponed.

Given the Swans are unable to take on West Coast while they’re in WA, it appears all but certain the AFL will today announce another team or two who will follow the Swans and Giants out west.

Carlton and Hawthorn are currently in WA, while Geelong and Collingwood departed earlier in the week.
