VideoAFL: The West Coast Eagles have announced that they will no longer require the services of Lewis Jetta for the up coming AFL season.

A pair of West Australian young guns have committed to the Brisbane Lions, with Deven Robertson and Jaxon Prior resigning until the end of 2022.

Roberston, WA’s under-18 captain in 2019, played just one game this season in round one against Hawthorn, after being drafted with pick 22 in last year’s draft.

The big-bodied midfielder from Perth won the Larke Medal as the under-18’s best and fairest after averaging 30 disposals a game.

Prior, a hybrid defender, was taken by the Lions with pick 59 from West Perth after a great 2019 colts season where he was one five Falcons named in the WAFL Colts team of the year.

The 19-year-old, who is the son of former Essendon and West Coast defender Michael Prior, did not play in 2020.

Brisbane coach Chris Fagan said the club was happy to see the WA products join a host of young players that have also recently extended their time at the Lions.

“We’re really pleased to have Deven and Jaxon re-sign with the Club,” he said.

“We see them both as emerging players for us and we believe they have a strong part to play in our future.

“They are both very team-focussed young men who add significantly to the selfless culture we are building here at the Lions and they join a host of other young players who have recommitted in 2020.”
