French centre Rudy Gobert has picked up where left off, returning after his second bout of COVID-19 to score 18 points and grab 19 rebounds as his Utah Jazz beat the Denver Nuggets 125-102 in the NBA.

The centre missed the previous five games will illness but was still extended his streak of consecutive double-doubles to 15 on Sunday in Denver as the Jazz snapped a four-game losing streak.

Donovan Mitchell scored 31 points and Bojan Bogdanovic finished with 21 points while Australian veteran Joe Ingles came off the bench to add five assists for the Jazz, who are third in the western conference with a 29-14 record.

Nikola Jokic had 25 points, 15 rebounds and 14 assists for Denver for his second triple-double in two days. He tied the Los Angeles Lakers' Russell Westbrook for the most in the NBA this season with nine, and has 66 in his career.

But the Jazz took control with Jokic on the bench to start the final quarter, scoring the first 11 points of the period.

In Detroit, Devin Booker scored 30 points and JaVale McGee added 20 in their Michigan homecomings to help the NBA-leading Phoenix Suns rout the Detroit Pistons 135-108.

The Suns have won the first three games on their four-game trip and six of seven to improve to 33-9. The are an NBA-best 16-4 on the road.

In Minneapolis, Karl-Anthony Towns had 26 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Minnesota to a 119-99 win over worn-out Golden State Warriors, who played without stars Steph Curry and Draymond Green.

The Warriors (31-12), who were without Green (strained lower back/calf) all four games of their 1-3 trip, sent Curry home a night early with right-hand soreness he experienced in Friday's win at Chicago.

In Sacramento, Christian Wood had 23 points and 14 rebounds, Eric Gordon made a clutch bucket with 12.5 seconds left and Houston beat Sacramento 118-112 to split a two-game set.

Kevin Porter Jr. added 23 points and seven assists to help the Rockets rebound from a 126-114 loss Friday night in Sacramento.
