Two-time NBL MVP Bryce Cotton has re-signed with the Perth Wildcats for the next three seasons, the club confirmed on Tuesday morning.

The news comes following yesterday’s speculation the 27-year-old would return to the Red Army, after initially opting out of his NBL contract to explore European options.

Cotton, who first joined the Cats in January 2017, will now be part of the Wildcats’ elusive three-peat attempt for the 2020/21 season.

“I’m back for the next three seasons and I couldn’t be happier sharing this news,” Cotton said.

“There's no place like home.”

Unsurprisingly, coach Trevor Gleeson said he’s ‘thrilled’ to have the league’s best player back on his books.

“Bryce is the type of guy who makes everyone else on the team a better player. He’s a pleasure to coach and a great teammate,” Gleeson said.

“Bryce is only 27 and to have him for the next three years and watch him at the peak of his career in a Wildcats jersey, it’s going to be a fun ride.”

Cotton has played 110 games for the Wildcats and will remain in red until at least 2023 after penning the new three-year deal.

Since arriving in Western Australia, Cotton has managed two MVPs, three championships and two finals MVPs on his incredibly decorated CV.

Cotton is the second player to re-commit after taking advantage of the NBL’s two-week opt out window, after Matt Hodgson re-signed with the Brisbane Bullets.

Meanwhile, the Wildcats second-best contributor Nick Kay continues his search for a European contract after opting out of his NBL contract.
