Casper Ruud has become the first player since Andy Murray in 2011 to win three ATP Tour titles in three successive weeks.

The Norwegian beat Pedro Martinez 6-1 4-6 6-3 to lift the Generali Open title in Kitzbuhel, which followed wins in Bastad and Gstaad as he dominates the late-summer clay-court season.

It is a decade since Murray won in Beijing, Tokyo and Shanghai in consecutive weeks, with Ruud following suit in Europe this month.

In the United States hard-court swing, Brandon Nakashima is through to his second successive final after making it to the showpiece of the Atlanta Open.

The American was beaten by Briton Cameron Norrie in last week's final in Los Cabos and booked another spot by beating Emil Ruusuvuori 3-6 6-4 6-3.

Nakashima will face John Isner, who defeated compatriot Taylor Fritz 7-6 (7-4) 5-7 6-3 in the other semi-final, with a break in the second game of the third set proving the difference.

The big-serving Isner was involved in another tough three-setter a day earlier against gallant Australian Chris O'Connell, winning 7-6 (7-5) 6-7 (7-3) 6-4.

The Atlanta Open is proving to be a successful tournament for Australia with Jordan Thompson teaming up with American Steve Johnson to reach the final of the men's doubles competition.

They beat the all Australian pairing of Matt Reid and Alexei Popyrin 4-6 6-3 10-8 in the semi-final and now play Reilly Opelka and Jannik Sinner in the final.

Thompson and O'Connell also enjoyed impressive runs in the singles competition, bowing out in the last eight to eventual finallists Nakashima and Isner respectively.
