It’s a family affair for the Friday night clash between West Coast and Richmond, with three Riolis playing at Optus Stadium.

Maurice Rioli Jr and Daniel Rioli will run out in yellow and black for the Tigers while Willie Rioli is the sole family representative in blue and gold for the Eagles.

Maurice, 19, is the cousin of Willie, 26, and the uncle of Daniel, 25. The three relatives gathered in the middle of the ground before the game for an interview, hugging and exchanging laughs before getting a family portrait.

The trio account for half of the six Rioli family members to have played in the AFL, following Maurice’s dad, Maurice Sr (Richmond), and his cousins Dean (Essendon) and Cyril (Hawthorn).

Maurice will play his third game against the Eagles, while Willie has played 43 and Daniel is clocking up game 121.

Daniel also holds flag bragging rights over his uncle and cousin, claiming the most premiership medals out of the trio (3), while Willie has one (2018).

Teenager Maurice Jr was one of six changes for the Tigers after impressing coach Damien Hardwick in the VFL’s opening rounds.
