Thousands of Westpac customers have been hit with an EFTPOS outage.

More than 3000 customers reported an outage for Westpac services, starting shortly after 12.30pm Wednesday.

A Westpac spokesperson told NewsWire they were aware some customers were experiencing issues accessing banking services.

“We’re working to restore services as quickly as possible and apologise to customers for the inconvenience.”

In a holding message on Westpac’s phone line, a representative said: “We are aware of certain issues impacting merchant terminals.

“We apologise for any inconvenience.”

NAB and Commonwealth Bank operations are working as normal.
