The multimillion-dollar Peppermint Grove house being offloaded by Eagles premiership star turned Hawthorn premier defender Tom Barrass is still up for grabs. The four-bedroom, four-bathroom 1970s “resort-style” home hit the market last week, with groups touring the 1009sq m pad in multiple viewings while Barrass was in town for the Origin game between WA and Victoria at Optus Stadium. Listing agent Jody Fewster of Ray White Cottesloe Mosman Park confirmed there had been a “couple” of buyers show interest but the home was “very much still for sale.” Barrass and wife Nadia Rosa bought the home in March 2023 for $3.15 million — and now hope to get more than $4m and bank a lazy million profit in just three years. Among the Peppermint Grove home’s impressive features are its ground-floor bedroom suite that opens directly to the garden, a bespoke kitchen with Gaggenau appliances and custom cabinetry. It also has a swimming pool and freestanding pool cabana. The median price for a four-bedroom home in Peppermint Grove — Perth’s most expensive suburb — is $7.025m. The listing says a standout feature is the covered alfresco pavilion in the backyard, which comes with a kitchenette and bathroom. Before moving to Peppermint Grove, Tom and Nadia — who have sons Billy, 4, and Benson, 2 — sold their mid-century Wembley Downs home on Hale Road for $1.38m in 2023. They bought it in the Eagles’ premiership year of 2018 for just over $1m. The former West Coast vice-captain left for Hawthorn 18 months ago after 11 years as an Eagle. Barrass, Nadia and their two boys now call East Malvern in Melbourne’s inner-east home.
