Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Nicholas Brendon dies aged 54
Actor Nicholas Brendon, best known for his role as Xander Harris in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has died aged 54-years-old.
His family confirmed the news in a statement shared to Instagram, revealing the beloved star died in his sleep from natural causes.
“We are heartbroken to share the passing of our brother and son, Nicholas Brendon,’ the post read.
Brendon rose to fame playing Xander Harris across all seven seasons of the cult TV series, becoming a fan favourite.
His family said while many knew him for his acting work, he had recently found a new creative flair.
“In recent years, Nicky found his passion for painting and art,” the statement said.
“He loved to share his enthusiastic talent with his family, friends and fans.
“He was passionate, sensitive, and endlessly driven to create.”
They added his artwork was a true reflection of who he was, describing it as “one of the purest reflections” of his personality.
Fans flocked to the comments section to express their condolences.

It comes after he had to be rushed to hospital in August 2022 after suffering from a cardiac incident. While in hospital, Brendon discovered he had a cogenital heart defect.
His passing comes less than a month before what would have been his 55th birthday.
