Tame Impala: Perth-based musician Kevin Parker touring Australia in October with six-piece band

Perth-based musician Kevin Parker will lead his Grammy-winning musical project Tame Impala around Australia in October, announcing a series of four national arena shows culminating in a raucous homecoming at RAC Arena.

The world-conquering artist released his fifth album Deadbeat in September 2025, featuring singles Loser, Dracula, and End of Summer, with the latter leading to Parker’s first solo Grammy award for Best Dance/Electronic Recording awarded earlier this month.

It followed his 2025 win in the same category for Neverender, a collaboration with pioneering French troupe Justice.

Released five years after 2020’s The Slow Rush, Parker’s latest album was largely crafted between his residence of Fremantle, and the artist’s legendary Wave House studio nestled within WA’s rugged Injidup region near the town of Yallingup.

It showcases the 40-year-old’s unique and evolving blend of psychedelic house music, euphoric vocals, and metronomic dance bops.

While much of Parker’s most revered work has come as a solo artist, his enviable list of collaborators as a producer includes Dua Lipa, The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, Travis Scott, Rihanna, and Mark Ronson.

Fronting Tame Impala’s newly-formed six-piece band, the West Aussie kicked off his Deadbeat Tour with 12 sold-out shows across North America in October last year, with a European tour to follow this April.

He will then return to the US and Canada in July for a slew of arena shows supported by Djo, otherwise known as Stranger Things star Joe Keery, and singer-songwriter Dominic Fike.

The Fremantle Dockers’ number one ticket holder also featured Keery’s acting talent in the video clip for his track Loser.

Parker’s Deadbeat Tour will kick-off in Brisbane on October 10, followed by performances in Melbourne on October 14, Sydney on October 19, and a crescendo in Perth on October 24.

He will be supported by emerging Aussie artist Ninajirachi, with the NSW-based DJ claiming an impressive four spots in Triple J’s Hottest 100 countdown in January.

Tame Impala achieved third spot in the same count with viral hit Dracula.

While Parker took the Aussie stage in 2025 as a DJ and opening act for his electronic pals Justice, the return of Tame Impala to Aussie shores as a band follows their Covid-affected performances of 2022.

Hinting earlier this month their next local appearances may not be far away, Frontier Touring posted a cryptic message to fans asking, “End of Summer?”

And on Monday, the touring agent followed it up with a post featuring Parker in the surest sign yet some news was coming, captioned: “My friends are saying, shut up Kevin, just announce the tour...”

Pre-sale tickets begin on Wednesday, February 25 at 9am local time, with general sale to follow on February 27.
