Winner of a 2026 WA Architecture Award, this stunning suburban home will be open to the public as part of the DesignFreo series, which celebrates local design in the port city and surrounds. Created by architects Dennis Silva and Anna Mustard for their own young family, it’s an inspiring example of small space living done right.

Avon Descent
Saturday August 8 and Sunday August 9, Avon and Swan rivers
The famous white-water race is back with two days of action as kayaks, skis, stand-up paddleboards and boats tackle the 124km course along the Swan and Avon rivers between Northam and Bayswater. There are plenty of vantage points to watch the action, and various festivals taking place over the weekend.
