Jackie “O” Henderson has revealed the reason co-host Kyle Sandilands sensationally stormed off their radio show just minutes into the live broadcast.

The shock jock left the recording booth just 11 minutes into the show on Tuesday morning after an on-air fight with Henderson.

Henderson admitted that she may have helped push Sandilands too far, leading to the storm off, calling him a “c**k sucker” after he used the same term to attack newsreader Brooklyn Ross.

Despite the tiff, Sandilands apologised to Henderson and explained that a shoulder injury and medication contributed to his stress.

“He sent me a message saying, ‘Honey, I’m so sorry. I’m on medication and I’m not myself. I’m in so much pain’,” Henderson explained on the show on Wednesday.

“I actually feel so bad for him.”

Sandilands had spoken about the recent injury to his rotator cuff that had caused him extreme discomfort, with doctors prescribing him Oxycodone to deal with the pain.

Oxycodone is a strong opioid painkiller that can cause side effects such as light-headedness, confusion and unusual tiredness or weakness.

The clash began when the co-hosts were discussing Covid-19 after the NSW Premier cancelled his appearance due to testing positive.

Sandilands made it known that he did not appreciate Henderson downplaying the seriousness of Covid-19, describing it as “just like the flu”.

He reminded her that she had been extremely cautious when it came to the virus in the past before Henderson asserted that she had changed her opinion.

The on-air tiff comes less than a week after the duo signed a record-breaking 10 year deal for $200 million.

The fight then resorted to name calling before Sandilands stormed out of the studio, going home for the day.

“Well, that escalated quickly,” Henderson said after the incident.

“What’s happening today? I’m telling you this full moon, it messes with people,” she continued.

Its understood Henderson also went home as the program began airing old episodes.

The duo’s on-air clash comes less than a week after they signed a record-breaking deal to continue their live on-air show for another 10 years.

They will be paid $200m over the contract and KIIS will extend their reach into Melbourne for the first time.

“Fans of the show will be stoked to hear this 10-year deal is the longest radio deal in Australian history,” Sandilands said when it was announced.

“Love us or loathe us, Jackie and I will be continuing with our politically incorrect nonsense for a long, long time.”
