With thousands of entries from across WA the results are in — the State’s cutest pet pooch is Pippa.

Channel 7 presenters Susannah Carr and Adrian Barich, alongside Nova’s Nat Locke helped to determine the winner of the The West Australian and Channel 7’s Pooch Perfect Competition.

At just six months old, Pippa the Dachshund charmed the judges with her cheeky smile and vibrant personality. And her photo baring her teeth showing how she’s ‘top dog’ may have also helped!

The judges said whittling down the 2600 entries was a difficult task but Pippa eventually “pipped” the rest.

Pippa’s owner Shanelle Schramm said her family told her about the competition and encouraged her to enter.

“They all adore Pippa,” she said. “She is very sweet and affectionate and is a little bit shy, but is the cuddliest dog ever and such a little sweetie. I just gave it a go and it was a nice surprise to win.”

Ms Schramm said the $1000 prize — to be spent at any Petbarn or City Farmers store — would help extensively with the costs of caring for her beloved pooch.

“It will be such a great help with her food and I’ll probably get her a few toys ... maybe a nice bed, too.”
