TV host Samantha Armytage has revealed her “beautiful” grandmother died last week after reaching the incredible milestone age of 100.
The 49-year-old journalist took to Instagram on Tuesday to announce the tragic news to her more than 262,000 followers, who offered heartfelt messages and condolences to her grieving family.
Her grandmother’s death comes six years after her mother Libby died in 2020 after a long battle with an autoimmune disease and two years after her dog Banjo died suddenly in 2024.
“Last week ~ we laid our beautiful Nanny Flannery to rest,” Armytage said in an Instagram post.
“She was 100 & she was just pure magic ✨.
“I’ve included messages here from friends of mum’s & mine - because she was universally adored.
“And in return, she was totally adoring.
“A grandmother’s love is like no other.”

Armytage said her nanny loved the colour yellow and “fittingly, the autumn afternoon she passed, the light shone through the glorious Ginko tree in my garden”.
“She’s shining with my mama now (& Banjo 🐾).. how lucky am I to have 3 Guardian Angels,” she continued.
“She deserves a good rest ... but Lordy, we shall miss her.
“Dorothy Flannery, 1925 ~2026.”
Armytage’s post also included several photos of her grandmother that marked special memories for the TV star.
Her friends and fellow TV personalities took to the comments section to leave touching messages.
Michelle Bridges said: “Wow. What a life! I’m so sad for your loss. You had her in your life for so long; what a blessing. Sending love and hugs.”

In March, Armytage sold her coastal New South Wales home. two years after she confirmed her split from former husband of four years, Richard Lavender.
The three-bedroom house boasts views of Jervis Bay and sits on 658sqm.
It also features two bathrooms, a light-filled kitchen, a front deck and large double living areas.
The double lock-up garage, which already has undercover, carport-style parking, could be converted into a studio, games room, or sleep-out.
Cotality records show the television host bought the home in 2018 for $1.765 million.
