The ex-wife of a celebrity dentist, who was shot dead by police after terrorising two women at a Potts Point apartment block, has shared details of a new heartbreaking family loss in a social media post.

Steven Lin, 41, was killed after he allegedly attacked two women, Chloe Paul and Christine Campeau, inside their St Neot Ave homes armed with a knife on March 3 this year.

Police tasered Lin, but he could not be restrained and was shot dead by an officer.

Taking to social media, Mr Lin’s estranged ex Cassandra shared with “profound and unimaginable heartbreak” that her brother Christopher had died following complications during ENT surgery last Thursday.

Ms Lin wrote on social media that Christopher was her sibling soulmate, protector, and the person she loved most in the world.

“As children we were close, but our bond only grew stronger as adults, as family was everything to him. We became each other’s constant. I was the centre of his world, and he was the centre of mine,” she said.

“The loss of him is impossible to put into words. I don’t know how to imagine this life without his laughter, his guidance, his unwavering love, and the comfort of knowing he was always there.

“And even though I feel broken, and there are no words to describe the immense pain I am feeling, I am endlessly grateful for every moment we shared and for the privilege of being loved by him.

“He was truly one of a kind, with the largest heart, and the space he leaves behind can never be filled.”

After her husband was killed, Ms Lin revealed the horrifying reasons why their marriage ended in an open letter.

She wrote her world came crashing down when she discovered her husbands secret life, affairs, abuse and a child he fathered that she knew nothing about.

“It shattered the trust I had placed in you and the future I thought we were building together,” she said.

“The pain of that betrayal is something I’m still learning how to carry.

“An yet standing here today, I’m reminded that people are never just the worst they have done, nor only the best.

“You were complicated. You were flawed. You made choices that hurt me deeply and changed our lives forever.

“I had to stand back and let you fight your secret war. A war which you lost in the end.”

Lin was the former chief executive officer of Helix Dentistry Group and was facing several criminal charges before he died.

He appeared in the Wollongong Local District Court in the days leading up to his death over allegations he choked and assaulted a sex worker and stole $2000 from her in 2025.

The Daily Telegraph reported the charges were dismissed when the sex worker failed to appear in court.

Lin also had records for bail breaches, assaults, choking offences, apprehended violence order breaches and stalking/intimidation offences.
