They say money can’t buy you happiness, but $15 can buy you one of the biggest selling and best value Australian whites.

In the Top 100 Whites, Sparklings and Roses lift-out inside tomorrow’s The West Australian, I have awarded Deep Woods Ivory semillon sauvignon blanc blend with the title of best value wine.

In national wine shows it has been regularly recognised as being among the best in its category, with its most recent win, a trophy at the Adelaide Wine Show. Not bad for a wine that sells for less than $15 bottle.

The fresh and flavoursome white blend captures everything that is good about this combination in WA. In fact, no fridge should be considered fully stocked unless it has at least one bottle of this little thirst slaking pick-me-up during summer.

In addition to the Deep Woods Ivory, the special lift-out will also feature Australia’s best white wine selling for less than $40, which turned out to be a battle royal between two outstanding WA chardonnays.

As well you can check out the best Australian and imported roses, Australian sparklings, local and imported prosecco and a selection of French Champagne.

Each of the wines is pointed with tasting notes to help you choose your drinks for the coming months.

Readers also can win a selection of wines from the tasting.
