Alan Jones to front court over 44 allegations of indecently assaulting, groping, and inappropriately touching young men

Former shock jock radio presenter Alan Jones is expected to front court just days after he was slapped with nine additional charges of indecent assault. The embattled former 2GB host is facing 44 charges he indecently assaulted, groped, or inappropriately touched up to 11 young men. He has always denied the allegations, and previously indicated he intended to fight the charges in court. Mr Jones is expected to front the John Maddison Tower in Sydney’s CBD on Thursday morning for charge certification. Among the complaints are allegations Mr Jones kissed a man on the mouth and touched the man’s penis. Mr Jones, 84, was arrested at his harbourside apartment on November 18 last year following a NSW Police investigation. He was hit with 34 charges relating to allegations he indecently assaulted, groped, or inappropriately touched several young men. The initial charges, alleged to have taken place between 2001 and 2019, included an aggravated indecent act and sexually touching a person without consent. The acts allegedly took place at numerous locations, including Mr Jones’ old Newtown home, his luxury Circular Quay apartment, and a Fitzroy Falls property. Police in March revealed they laid an additional charge of assault with act of indecency against Mr Jones, which brought the number of alleged victims up to 11 people. He was slapped with nine further charges of indecent assault on Monday. The former Wallabies coach previously denied the allegations and indicated he intended to fight them in court, telling the media in March he was “certainly not guilty”. Among the charges are 29 counts of indecent assault, 11 counts of aggravated indecent assault, two counts of common assault and two counts of sexual touching.
