Isi Campbell sets up fundraiser to take her to 2025 ISA World StandUp Paddle and Paddleboard Championship

Denmark surfer Isi Campbell is in the Philippines for the World Surf League qualifying series before heading to El Salvador next month to represent Australia in the 2025 ISA World StandUp Paddle and Paddleboard Championship. The event in the Philippines is the Siargao International 6000 Surfing Cup which runs until October 31, the fifth event in the series’ calendar. Campbell already has two top-10 finishes this season, coming ninth in both the Phillip Island Pro and the Siheung Korea Open. She lies 16th in the rankings with 2970 points from an average heat score of 7.90. However, following the Philippines her focus will be on the ISA World SUP and Paddleboard Championship from November 10-15. Having recovered from a career-threatening shoulder injury in 2023 she was delighted to have been selected to represent Australia, but said she was struggling to pay for the trip to El Salvador. She has set up a GoFundMe page, which has so far raised $4000. “The opportunity is a dream come true, especially after the journey I’ve had to get here,” she said. “The ISA world championships were officially announced on September 29, leaving athletes with very little notice to plan logistics. “I’m incredibly grateful for the ongoing support I’ve received from Great Southern Academy of Sport but the costs involved in travelling to El Salvador are beyond what I can manage alone.” She said she started using a SUP board to help with her rehabilitation following her shoulder reconstruction. “I began using a SUP board to build strength and stability in my shoulder but what started as a rehab exercise quickly became a new passion and an unexpected pathway to high-level competition,” Campbell said. “I went from re-learning basic movements to representing Australia on the world stage.” Campbell won the national SUP championship at Phillip Island in October last year and retained her State crown in July.
