Great Southern regional ambassador for Tennis West, Ellen Weetman said despite the wet weather the tournament was a big success.

“We had a lot of rain actually but the kids were so enthused just to get back out on the court straight away,” she said.

“We had quite a few of the regional schools involved so it was an excellent turnout.

“It was a really great day,” she said.

Both Kendenup PS and Mt Barker CC have been invited to play in the Academy Plate Regional Finals in Perth at the State Tennis Centre on April 1.
