The popular Garage Sale Trail full of pre-loved items is expecting thousands to participate on its return to Denmark for a third edition this spring.

The national event will be open to Denmark buyers and sellers on November 8-9 and 15-16 with hundreds of neighbourhood garage sales and stalls predicted to be set up across the shire.

Since 2023, the event has helped divert quality reusable items from landfill, promoting community-led waste reduction and supporting the Shire of Denmark’s plan Our Future 2035, which aims for zero waste to landfill through recycling.

Shire president Kingsley Gibson said the Garage Sale Trail is a fun and practical way to reduce waste and connect with neighbours.

“Events like this help build community, support the circular economy, and keep useful, functional household items out of landfill, and I guarantee you, there’s always something for everyone,” Cr Gibson said.

“Free registrations are now open, and anyone interested in taking part can access how-to guides, helpful resources, and find useful information to make it easy for both sellers and buyers to get involved over the two weekends.

“In 2024, over 1700 people participated, and this year we hope to see even more community participation.”

The festival of second-hand goods is a perfect opportunity for residents to turn disused items into cash and for bargain hunters to bag an epic deal in their own neighbourhood.
