Three Great Southern schools were recognised as top performers in last year’s ATAR results, with Year 12 students from all three schools lodging scores in the top 15 per cent for a particular subject.

The School Curriculum and Standards Authority released its annual ATAR performance data last Wednesday, with fewer than 100 schools singled out as WA’s top scorers in the 2025 results.

For 2025, 94 schools across WA made the list of the State’s top performers, with 13 of those listed as high achievers in 10 or more subjects.

Schools make the list if they have at least 10 Year 12 students who sat the ATAR subject, and at least 10 per cent of those students scored in the top 15 per cent of WA for that subject.

Schools with too few students were not included.

Only nine of the 94 schools were regional, and three of those were in the Great Southern.

St Joseph’s College in Albany achieved top marks in English and Religion and Life Studies, and Denmark Senior High School and the WA College of Agriculture — Denmark also made the list.

Denmark SHS was recognised for scores in Outdoor Education and Biology, and WACOA Denmark for Agribusiness and Agricultural Science and Technology.

Perth Modern claimed the title of WA’s top school with top scores in 23 subjects.
